Hello

My name is Daniell Rider, and I'm originally from Oakland, CA. My Journey led me to Austin, TX where I currently reside and work in the non-profit sector.

My leadership journey began long before I held a formal title. I grew up in after-school programs and community learning spaces where caring adults, structure, and opportunity shaped my path. Those early experiences sparked a lifelong commitment to education, equity, and leadership development.

With over 24 years of experience in the out-of-school-time (OST) field, I have worked at every level—from frontline educator to Director. I have led multi-site programs, supported teams through growth and transition, and built systems that center people while driving impact. Today, I oversee learning center operations across multiple regions, supporting nearly 100 education professionals and hundreds of students and families.

My "Why"

My “why” is deeply personal. I grew up in after-school programs and community spaces where caring adults consistently showed up, believed in my potential, and created opportunities that changed the direction of my life. Those spaces were more than programs—they were lifelines. They taught me the power of connection, structure, and adults who lead with intention.

That experience shaped my commitment to education and leadership. I’ve spent over two decades working alongside educators and leaders who are doing meaningful work under complex conditions. I’ve seen firsthand how strong, empathetic leadership can transform teams, strengthen communities, and create lasting impact—and how its absence can do the opposite.

I believe adults deserve the same intentional support we strive to give young people. That belief led me to pursue my second master’s degree in Adult Education and Training and to dedicate my work to developing leaders who are not only skilled, but self-aware, compassionate, and mission-driven.

At the heart of my work is The Power of WE—the belief that when we invest in people, lead with empathy, and stay rooted in purpose, we create environments where everyone can grow. My why is simple: to help guide others into leadership that is human-centered, impactful, and built to last.
